Rally for environment and education

This year we organized a rally for the environment and importance of education. The students marched with banners and slogans in the neighboring area.

We are happy to see the tremendous growth in the students. The youngest children are now able to introduce themselves in English, and are improving greatly in Hindi, Mathematics and social sciences. Being a centre for change in both education, social and mental conditions for the local community, we also focus on teaching the children moral education like personal hygiene and respect towards teachers and parents. This year we organized a rally for the environment and importance of education. The students marched with banners and slogans in the neighboring area. Through the rally, more than 600 villagers were made aware of the importance of trees and education for girls. Girls tend to be seen as less important, and thus not prioritized by the parents. The school made a goal to increase the number of girls in the following years.

Parent-Teacher meetings are an important platform to also educate the parents about hygiene and importance of education for all children. Almost all the parents are now attending the meeting once a month. We have started to see change in the families. The children are now tidier when coming to school, and the parents are very happy with the program.

The school finally got a van for school transportation. This is a great help in running the school, and also in our community development plan. The number of students have reached 150 and we are currently facing space problems. While waiting for new rooms to be constructed, the children are organized in the assembly area.
