Hostel

In the jungle of Mongpong, West Bengal, work is underway. The boarding house, which will provide 40 girls with a safe home while they complete their 12-year schooling, is expected to be completed in September. In this area, education is not for everyone. Many girls are seen as an expense and are outright unwanted by their families. Many girls in India are highly exposed to violence and human trafficking. They are simply not prioritized financially, largely because the families in the area are poor, and the girls will disappear from the family anyway if they get married. Dowry is still practiced, even though it has been abolished by law. As a result, many girls in this area do not have the opportunity to receive an education. We aim to support education, nurture hope for the future, and provide a safe home.
