Mongpong

In the area of Mongpong, Glocal Aid has started a project together with MOmenTUm. Since April 2025 we have started fundraising and working to build a hostel for 40 girls, providing them with a safe home. In this region, education is not a given. Many girls are seen as a financial burden and are outright unwanted by their families.

Girls in India are highly vulnerable to violence and human trafficking. They are often not prioritized financially, largely because families in the area live in poverty, and girls are expected to leave the household once they marry. As a result, many girls in this region are denied the opportunity for education. That’s why we want to help support their access to schooling, a hopeful future, and a safe home.

After completing this project, Glocal Aid desires to help develop and grow the school in Mongpong further in the years to come.
